What is included in the open beta?
The open beta is fully functional. You can build, deploy, and scale websites, data, APIs, auth, workflows, and AI. Some individual features of some plans may need to be enabled on individual accounts by support on request. Because this is a beta, some features, limits, and details may still change.
As of September 22, 2026, the free plan is open to anyone. We are releasing new features to beta users daily. The best place to learn about new features is through social media and our Discord.
We encourage you to join our Discord. Discord users may get early access to unreleased features on request.
We have a culture of innovation, and a long list of features in our roadmap that we're working on for the beta and beyond. We listen to customer feedback and use it to decide what to improve next.
What is not included in the open beta?
You can't build native mobile apps yet. We expect that by the end of Q4 2026. Some individual features of some plans may need to be enabled on individual accounts by support on request. You can contact support or get in touch on Discord.
The Growth plan is not available yet. We will release it on September 30. The Pro plan will launch in October.
We're also working on a number of features that we're excited to announce when they're ready to share.
When does the open beta end?
We don't know yet. We'll share an end date when we have one.
Our goal during this beta is to get feedback from users and make the building process as smooth and easy as possible.
Why “no code” instead of using an AI coding tool?
AI coding tools generate a codebase you still have to understand, host, secure, and maintain. Proto Studio is a complete application cloud platform, so you don't need to write code or configure servers. This significantly reduces the risk of introducing errors and security vulnerabilities.
Using no-code, you can see what you are building in real time and iterate quickly using intuitive tools that you might already be familiar with.
That said, we love developers and we strive to give them the best Developer Experience (DX) possible. With our platform, all features are accessible through our API, command line tool, and MCP server. Plus, our JavaScript edge runtime lets you safely extend and customize the platform to your needs.
